Former New England Patriots running back James White shared his thoughts on rookie quarterback Drake Maye during an episode of “The Money Down Podcast.” The North Carolina product has been making waves across the league with multiple veterans singing his praises on a weekly basis. Meanwhile, Drake Maye has put the league on notice as a dual threat since taking over the starting job in mid-October. But this week, Maye lamented his turnovers (11), now more than his passing touchdowns (10).

Since taking over the starting role from Jacoby Brissett just a handful of weeks ago, New England Patriots rookie quarterback Drake Maye has continually showed off incredible flashes of talent that made him one of the top prospects of the 2024 NFL Draft.

The Patriots took two more rookies late in the draft. Quarterback Joe Milton III, a sixth-rounder, has yet to be active as the third-stringer behind Maye and Jacoby Brissett. Bell has played 33 offensive snaps with one 1-yard catch.

Rookie quarterback Drake Maye isn't losing sleep over his high turnover rate, and that's ultimately a good thing for the Patriots.

Maye is tied for sixth in the NFL with 11 turnovers. He’s lost four fumbles and had thrown 11 interceptions. He ranks third among qualified quarterbacks with a 4.6% turnover-worthy play rate, which is a PFF metric. Since taking over the starting role in Week 6, he leads quarterbacks with 14 turnover-worthy plays.

Drake Maye is hoping his New England Patriots teammates feel the sting of their 34-15 loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. The Patriots quarterback shared the message he delivered to his teammates during Sunday's game, which they trailed by as many as 31 points at point, as they fell to 3-9 on the season.
