The 2018 original Moana movie featured music written by Lin-Manuel Miranda (who also worked on the music for Encanto ). In addition to the movie's anthem "How Far I'll Go" there were also a number of other bangers in the soundtrack like "Where You Are" and Maui's song "You're Welcome." Unfortunately, the music for the sequel is far weaker.

"Moana 2" is an okay movie, an above-average kiddie roller-coaster, and a piece of pure product in a way that the first "Moana," at its best, transcended.

With 'Moana 2' coming out in theaters on November 27, fans may be curious to know if playwright Lin-Manuel Miranda wrote the songs like he did for 'Moana.'

Original voice cast members Auliʻi Cravalho and Dwayne Johnson return, as does the first film's laudable commitment to repping Polynesian culture and empowerment.
