Gurdeep Singh Randhawa of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) secured victory in the Dera Baba Nanak assembly byelection, defeating Congress candidate Jatinder

The ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday won three Assembly by-polls – Gidderbaha, Dera Baba Nanak and Chabbewal – which were earlier held by the Congress, but lost Barnala seat to the grand old party.

AAP is leading in Dera Baba Nanak, Chabbewal and Gidderbaha while Congress is leading only on one seat in Barnala. The BJP is at third position in all four seats. Notably, Congress won in Dera Baba Nanak, Chabbewal and Gidderbaha in the 2022 Punjab elections and AAP won in Barnala.
