Chandigarh: The ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday won three of the four assembly seats – Gidderbaha, Chabbewal and Dera Baba Nanak – while the main opposition Congress snatched the Barnala seat from it.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) secured victories in three out of four assembly by-elections in Punjab, strengthening its hold in the state. The Congress managed to win one seat, while the BJP failed to secure any.

In Barnala, Congress candidate Kuldeep Singh Dhillon is leading by 2,750 votes against his nearest rival and BJP nominee Kewal Singh Dhillon after the eight rounds of counting.
