When the world needed them most, the defense of the Miami Hurricanes failed to show up and now the Hurricanes playoff chances have incredibly decreased.

The No. 6 Miami Hurricanes blew a three-touchdown lead — and very likely blew their chances at making the College Football Playoff — in a 42-38 loss to the Syracuse Orange on Saturday at the JMA Wireless Dome.

Kyle McCord threw for 380 yards and 3 touchdowns to outduel Cam Ward and lead the Orange to a 41-38 upset of the 6th-ranked Hurricanes.
